Farnham AS supporting artworks!

Last month the Society was contacted by Kasia, an MA student at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, working on a horizontal sundial project for the Heathlands Artwork Trail at RSPB Farnham. Kasia was asking for help with the calculations and having made two Sundials, horizontal and equatorial, I was happy to help with the installation.

The Sundial was arranged to show BST as it will be in place from 28 June to 31 October and well worth the walk from the free car park next to the Rural Life Centre.

The Heathland is home to many species of wildlife, and after installing the Sundial there was an opportunity to spot Deer, Stonechats, Dartford Warblers, Linnets, Whitethroats and Woodlarks as well as hear Nightjars “churring” during the day.
